Laila received her BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and was awarded a Fulbright fellowship in 2019.
She is passionate about traditional and non-traditional education and co-founded Apex to help students reach their full potential through international education. She has also co-founded Tawwr, a coding bootcamp for young professionals wishing to shift their career to software engineering.
Prior to Apex, Laila worked in sustainable development and policy-making at the UN in Switzerland and the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt. She is a regular independent policy researcher for The Economist and a product development consultant at Thebes Consultancy.
